Although choosing your curtain pole and finial may not seem like a big deal, the style you choose can make a big impact on the space.
In our latest post, we discuss these additions to your home further, and provide top tips for ensuring you make a decision you will be happy with.
What Does a Finial Do?
Finials are what give emphasis to the curtain pole and can make a statement about the style you have chosen for that room in your home.
Finials come in all manner of designs and may be made from several different materials;
As well as adding a point of interest and decoration to your room, finials also have a practical purpose. Without a final being added to the end of your curtain pole, your curtains would have nothing to stop them from sliding off.
The last hook, ring or tab of a curtain must be placed at the end of the curtain pole, before the curtain pole bracket. This way, the curtain will not slide off the end of the pole, or be pulled too far across when the curtains are drawn.
Choosing Curtain Pole Finial: Considerations
Once you have decided on the type of finial you would like, you will need to ensure that the design you choose is suitable for the curtains you have.
Generally, curtains that are attached to a curtain pole using hooks will fit well with any type of finial. Eyelet curtains, or curtains with fabric tabs, however, may require a larger finial to ensure they keep the curtain in place.
